Kerala Congress party veteran KV Thomas is still unsure whether he will attend the CPM party congress in Kannur on Saturday. He has said that he will make a final decision on Thursday, April 7.
The Congress party in Kerala is now in a major dilemma, with party veteran KV Thomas refusing to reveal his intentions regarding whether he would attend the CPM party congress in Kannur. It remains to be seen whether he will defy the high command’s strict order and participate in the CPM seminar at the party congress. He said a decision would be made on Thursday.
KV Thomas said that he had not made a final decision. His name appeared on the list of speakers in the programme schedule released on Tuesday.
The seminar on ‘Centre-state relationship’ is to be held on Saturday. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the seminar, and if he attends, Thomas will share the stage with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
It is noteworthy that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had withdrawn from the programme following a directive from the high command. The MP had said before his withdrawal that interaction between the parties is important in a democracy.
