Top Congress leaders convened at 10, Janpath for the second day in a row to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming elections. However, sources said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi skipped the meeting.
Top Congress leaders convened at 10, Janpath for the second day in a row to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls and the 2024 general elections. Tuesday’s meeting lasted nearly seven hours, sources said.
The meeting at Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s residence saw hectic deliberations regarding the party’s battle plan in states where elections are due in the next year or two: who to form alliances with, what are the party’s weaknesses, how to bolster prospects and set the poll narrative.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Kamal Nath and senior leader Digvijay Singh were reportedly present at the meeting. On Wednesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will be arriving in Delhi for another round of discussions.
Meanwhile, the Congress is gearing up for a three-day Chintan Shivir or brainstorming session in Udaipur from May 13. Besides coming up with a revival plan, leaders will also examine the long-term strategy presented by poll strategist Prashant Kishor.
According to sources both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were absent from the meetings held on Monday and Tuesday. Prashant Kishor had met with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior Congress party leaders.
