Ahead of the Gujarat elections in December, the party’s working president, Hardik Patel, alleged that the Congress leadership in the state does not let anyone work and if someone does, they are stopped.

Rifts can be clearly seen in the Gujarat Congress, and the party is going through very difficult times just before the Gujarat assembly elections. Several party leaders are unhappy with the party, while some have left the party. Patidar leader and Congress working committee president, Hardik Patel, too, is unhappy.
The Congress senior leadership in Gujarat had also warned party members to not speak in public and discuss internal matters with them personally.
