The Kerala and Punjab units of the Congress had forwarded complaints against KV Thomas and Sunil Jakhar respectively. The party’s disciplinary committee had asked the duo to file their replies against the complaints which carried grave allegations.
Kerala Congress chief K Sudhakaran urged Congress leadership to take disciplinary action against former Union Minister KV Thomas after he attended a seminar organised by the CPI(M) in Kannur, where he reportedly praised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, despite being warned against doing so by the party.
He also backed the SilverLine rail project, contrary to the party’s opposition to the project. Following this, Sudhakaran reportedly accused Thomas of "striking deals with the state’s chief minister".
