Congress demands rollback of fuel price
The Hindu
Congress cadre in a three-phase campaign against hike in fuel price and rising inflation took out a rally here on Thursday condemning the Union government. The protesters, particulary women, garlanded a LPG marking the death of cooking fuel for the middle class.
The protesters claimed that the government waited it out for the assembly elections to conclude before hiking the prices.
According to the protesters, the fuel price hike will inevitably lead to the increase in the price of essential commodities burdening the poor. The cadre demanded that the government to rollback the price hike that directly targeted the poor and the middle class.
