TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud rallies party for local elections, criticizes TRS and BJP, promises 'good news' post-Sankranti.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud urged the party cadre to gear up for the upcoming local body elections with the aim of securing victory in all seats. He also hinted at ‘good news’ for party leaders after the Sankranti festival and emphasized inclusivity in the selection of candidates for the elections.
Addressing party workers and leaders at the Adilabad parliamentary constituency meeting on Monday, Mr. Goud said that the Congress functions like a family, acknowledging that disagreements within the party are natural. However, he stressed the importance of resolving issues collectively.
Highlighting the achievements of the Congress government in its first year, Mr. Goud stated that over 55,000 jobs had been created with significant focus on education and healthcare. He contrasted this with the alleged mismanagement during the decade-long rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing the KCR-led government of plunging the State into a debt crisis by borrowing ₹7 lakh crore. He also criticized BJP leaders, accusing them of exploiting religion for political gains.
Mr. Goud alleged that internal conflicts within the BRS were becoming increasingly evident, noting that the power struggle between K. Kavitha and her brother, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, had reached its peak. He questioned the role of Harish Rao in this conflict and suggested that he leave the BRS. Additionally, Mr. Goud criticised K. Kavitha for her ‘hypocritical love’ for the Backward Classes (BCs), which he claimed was a tactic to regain political relevance.
Speaking about proposed development projects in Adilabad, Mr. Goud announced that the district would soon have an airport under Congress rule, marking a significant milestone in regional development.
AICC General Secretary Deepa Dasmunsi, former Minister and in-charge of the erstwhile combined Adilabad district, Seethakka, as well as MPs, MLAs, MLCs, former ministers, and other senior leaders attended the meeting
