The aim of the padyatra is to promote the various schemes rolled out by the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Leaders and office-bearers of the party will publicise the schemes of the state government as well as interact with people.
The yatra is significant for all those eyeing party tickets to contest the assembly elections. Party members who are given the charge of monitoring the yatra in each assembly constituency maybe be given tickets to contest the assembly elections. Once the yatra concludes, the party will come out with a list of probable candidates, whom they might want to field for the assembly polls.
The BJP is not far behind the Congress when it comes to preparing for the assembly elections. It is learnt the BJP will be holding a party meeting in Gangrel located in Dhamtari district on October 6.
BJP's election strategist and national co-organization general secretary Shivprakash as well as the newly appointed state in-charge Om Mathur will be present at the meeting. Regional organization general secretary Ajay Jaiswal and state in-charge Nitin Naveen will also attend the meeting.
