India all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar has made a full recovery from Covid-19 and will be joining up with the squad in Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Vastrakar and S Meghana were forced to stay back in the country after contracting the virus, while the rest of the team left for England. Meghana was part of the team that secured a big win over Pakistan on Sunday.
Vastrakar was a big miss for India in the opening two games and now, according to PTI, the India all-rounder will be arriving in England later in the night.
"She will be arriving later tonight, said an Indian Olympic Association source to PTI.
Vastrakar's arrival will be a massive boost for the team ahead of their final game against Barbados on 3rd August. India opened their campaign against Australia with a disappointing loss in their tournament opener.
Despite setting up a competitive total of 154 runs, Ashleigh Gardner's unbeaten 52 saw the Aussies over the line. In the second match against Pakistan, India bounced back and beat their arch-rivals by eight wickets to get their campaign back on track.
Smriti Mandhana scored an incredible 42-ball 63 to take the team home on Sunday. Sneh Rana was one of the star performers for India on the day as she picked up two wickets for just 15 runs.
