
'Collapse of old buildings, fire a major concern': PM Modi to BJP mayors on city planning

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the two-day 'National Mayors' Conference' in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, said that the collapse of old buildings and fires are a major cause of concern for urban planning.
"The collapse of old buildings and buildings catching fire in cities is a major concern. This can be avoided if rules are followed," he said, while addressing the council of mayors and deputy mayors of the BJP in Gandhinagar.

PM Modi further said: "This conference has a major role to play in preparing a road map of India's urban development for the next 25 years during 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav."
"Our country trusts BJP. It's the responsibility of all mayors to work from the grassroots level. Better facilities are provided and growth should be well-planned," he told the mayors.
