The Coimbatore forest division officials arrested two men for poaching three monitor lizards. A sickle was also recovered from them and they have been jailed.
Two people were arrested for poaching three monitor lizards in the Tholamapalayan east beat of Periyanaickenpalayam forest range by the Coimbatore forest division officials.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the accused, identified as Rajendra (41) and Mani (42) hail from Samakkal Nagar in Bilichi Goundanur village. The report suggests that the duo was spotted by a team spearheaded by K Muthu from Thadagam reserve when they were making rounds of the forest on the evening of October 5.
