Coast Guard searching for missing fishing vessel off coast of Newfoundland

The Canadian Coast Guard is searching for a missing fishing vessel off the coast of Newfoundland that has not been heard from since Wednesday evening.
The boat was last located 160 nautical miles northeast of Gander, Len Hickey, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre's Halifax senior public affairs officer, told CBC News on Thursday night. Officials received a call at around 3:30 p.m. that afternoon that the boat hadn't reached its destination.
The boat's last transponder notice was made at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Hickey said.
Two Canadian Coast Guard vessels — the CCGS Conception Bay and the CCGS Ann Harvey — are involved in the search. Hickey said a Cormorant helicopter is also involved, but has since returned to land after encountering fog, along with a Hercules aircraft.
At least local seven fishing boats are also involved in the search, he said.
