Union Minister L. Murugan criticizes Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for lack of vision, predicts BJP-NDA victory in 2026.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was on a collision course with the Union government without a vision for the development of the State.
He interacted with students of a National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) coaching centre in Namakkal district.
Later, Mr. Murugan told reporters that the present DMK government was standing in the way of the development of Tamil Nadu. In the past, Chief Ministers from both the DMK and the AIADMK had a cordial relationship with the Centre and worked for the development of the State.
But without any vision for development, Mr. Stalin is on a collision course with the Union government. “States, such as Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, are developing due to the double engine sarkar. Everyone thinks Bihar is a backward State. But within the next 10 years, it will overtake Tamil Nadu in terms of development, thanks to this,” Mr. Murugan said.
Responding to a question on the AIADMK-BJP alliance, Mr. Murugan said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would come to power with a comfortable majority in the 2026 Assembly election, and the DMK would register a massive defeat and vanish.
The BJP high command will take a decision regarding the coalition government, he added.
On the NEET issue, Mr. Murugan said the DMK had been diverting the students’ attention and reducing their mental strength to prepare for the competitive exam.
