Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said the CM Margadarshi scheme announced in the budget was aimed at training the young to get prepared for competitive examinations sitting at home.
He was speaking after inaugurating Vidyavachaspathi Dr. Bannanje Govindacharya Memorial District and City Central Library buildings, a digital library, and unveiling the bust of the late Acharya at Udupi. He said the study material was being incorporated through software enabling students to use them on their electronic gadgets. Every youth should make use of the facility, he said.
Mr. Bommai said today’s youth have clarity on many issues and they have set ideals about the nation, State, and life. They should not leave the ideals behind and believe in their strength. A society with good character would further strengthen the nation, he said.
Stating that philosophy and science were the two faces of the same coin, Mr. Bommai said many scientists across the world have rendered excellent service influenced by philosophy. The Udupi library would facilitate studying philosophy and technology simultaneously, he said adding the software at the digital library would get continuously updated.
Udupi Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami and Udupi Kaniyur Mutt seer Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swami blessed the occasion. District in-charge Minister S. Angara, Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojay, Energy Minister V. Sunil Kumar, MLAs, MLCs, and others were present.
Later, Mr. Bommai inaugurated the newly built rural bus terminal of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation at Bannanje in the City. Transport Minister B. Sriramulu and others were present.
