CM Mamata will visit the violence-torn area in Birbhum while a TMC delegation will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, days after the arson incident.
Days after the horrific arson incident in Bengal's Birbhum, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has come under severe criticism -- will visit the violence-torn area. She assured that the perpetrators would be penalised.
On Tuesday, at least eight people were burnt alive after their homes were set on fire in Bengal's Rampurhat village. The incident took place soon after the alleged murder of TMC panchayat leader Bhadu Sheikh on Monday.
Meanwhile, the security deployment in the area has been increased. Also, the local administration has installed CCTV cameras in the area after Calcutta High Court's order. On Wednesday, the Calcutta HC took suo motu cognizance of the Birbhum arson case, observing that the crime was "serious in nature".

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Birbhum district today where at least eight people were killed. Banerjee said on Wednesday that she would visit Bogtui village, and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators of violence in the Birbhum district.
The TMC supremo said, "It was an attempt by the BJP, Left and the Congress to malign our government. Strict action will be taken against all those responsible for the Birbhum incident, irrespective of their (political) colour.”
A delegation of TMC leaders led by Sudeep Bandopadhyay will likely meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House around 11:30 am today. Bandyopadhyay rejected allegations of deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal.
