'Clerical error': Order to play hymns at Punjab CM's events to drown out protests withdrawn

The Punjab Police has withdrawn an order to play religious songs and DJ music at the events of the chief minister to drown out protests, citing clerical error.
After the order to play music and religious songs at events of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi to avoid slogans raised by protestors went viral, the same was withdrawn citing a 'clerical mistake'.
The Punjab police, on the directions of the chief minister on Thursday, issued a controversial diktat asking the district police officials to play music and religious songs during protests at events of the chief minister.
