Class 9 boy dies after falling from bus footboard in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai

Prabhakaran, a 14-year-old boy, died on Monday after he fell from the footboard of the bus he was travelling on. He was rushed to a government hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
A 14-year-old boy from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai died on Monday morning after he fell from the footboard of a bus he was travelling on. The deceased, identified as Prabhakaran, was studying in Class 9 in a government-aided school in Madurai district’s Aarapalayam area.
Prabhakaran was on his way to school when he met with the accident. He was standing on the footboard of the bus when he slipped and fell off, sustaining severe injuries.
The bus driver immediately stopped the bus. Prabhakaran was rushed to a government hospital in an ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Prabhakaran was allegedly standing on the footboard as the bus was overcrowded due to peak hours.
Karimedu Police registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
