The Maharashtra government has defended its decision to cancel the Class 10 or SSC exams in the state amid the current Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The government of Maharashtra has recently defended its decision to cancel the Class 10 or SSC exams due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic after it was criticised by the Bombay High Court in a hearing conducted last month. The state government on Monday told the Bombay High Court that SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) exams could not be compared as the latter was a relatively more important milestone for students as their careers depended on it. The affidavit, by the state's School Education and Sports department deputy secretary Rajendra Pawar, was in response to a PIL filed by a professor, Dhananjay Kulkarni, challenging the April 19 decision of the state government to cancel Class X exams this year.More Related News
