
Civilian killings: CRPF to send over 500 additional troops to boost security in Jammu and Kashmir

In the wake of recent spike in civilian killings in Kashmir, the CRPF said it will send five more companies to Jammu and Kashmir.
In a significant countermeasure to recent civilian killings in Kashmir, the Home Ministry has decided to send in additional five companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to the union territory.
Top officials confirmed to India Today that 25 companies of Border Security Force (BSF) and 25 companies of CRPF are already deployed in the Valley. The additional five companies of CRPF will take the number of companies deployed by Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), also known as paramilitary forces, to 55. Each company consists of about 100 troops.
