The cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, as well as Wilmot Township will be implementing a mandatory vaccine policy asking employees, volunteers and students to show proof of vaccination.
Similar to the Region of Waterloo's vaccine policy, released Monday, those who refuse to disclose their vaccination status or are not vaccinated will need to undergo training on the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine and participate in regular rapid testing.
The City of Cambridge and the townships of Wellesly, Woolwich and North Dumfires have not yet released their vaccination policies.
The City of Kitchener said in a release, staff participating in regular rapid testing will need to do it, "prior to reporting to the workplace."
As a condition of employment, the city is also requiring all new hires to provide proof of vaccination.
"Accommodations will be made for people who request a medical or other valid human rights code exemption," said a release from the city.
The policy takes effect immediately, but the city said it will give time for employees, volunteers and students to provide verification of their vaccination status.
