Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard speak about watching Jurassic Park in 1993. They also said that working with OGs on Jurassic World Dominion was amazing.
Jurassic World Dominion will mark the end of the Jurassic Universe, which first came to life in 1993 with Jurassic Park. The 1993 film opened the gates for a new age of cinema which continues to remain one of everyone’s favourite, especially for the 90s kids. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reunite after Jurassic World and are joined by the original Jurassic Park actors Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill for the ‘endgame.’
At the global press round table held today, Chris Pratt along with Bryce revealed that shooting with the OGs was amazing. “Before we shot the film, Laura had just won an Oscar, they are just incredible actors. They are so wildly talented and warm, sincere, and beautiful human beings. It was incredible and then, on top of that, we got to work with our favourite characters. It was fun.”
Answering one of indiatoday.in’s question on their memories of watching the first movie and now being a part of the last in the series, Bryce mentioned that in 1993, when she watched Jurassic Park, she was emotional. Bryce said, “When I watched Jurassic Park for the first time, I was 12 years old and I watched it in the theatres in the opening weekend. Chris was 13 years old. So, we were very much at the same stage of development as people and I remember I was originally not allowed to watch it, my parents were not going to let me. They went on opening night and came back, and I remember my dad saying, ‘this movie has changed cinema for ever and you have to see this film in the theatre.’ And then I went to watch it that weekend and I got emotional because, at that point, I had been on a lot of my dad’s movie sets and just naturally jut gravitated towards the innovations that were possible.”
The actress added, “I remember when I was 5 years old and my dad [director Ron Howard] was doing ‘Willow’ (1988) and they used morphing for the first time, and I remember being mind-blown by that as a kid. So, Jurassic got me emotional because I could feel my dad’s words being true. It opened new possibilities. That experience always stayed with me, and I yearn for it. It set an incredibly high bar that the film set, and we aim to reach for that.”
Adding his two-bits on it, Chris Pratt shared, “What more can I add? It is a perfect answer. I stand by what Bryce said.”
Jurassic World Dominion releases on June 10 in India and worldwide.
