Senior Left leader Sitaram Yechury said China opposes US hegemony and the US is trying to isolate China. Yechury also stated that India is becoming loyal to US under BJP rule.
CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday said China is opposing US hegemony while India is becoming loyal to the US under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.
"After the BJP government came to power, India surrendered to the US. China is resisting US hegemony when US is trying to isolate China," Yechuri said.
Sitaram Yechury was speaking after inaugurating the 23rd CPI(M) party congress in Kannur, Kerala. Yechury also criticised India's foreign policy. India should withdraw from the QUAD alliance, Sitaram Yechury said.
Yechury also called for 'borad secular alliance' to oppose the BJP.
"The BJP is using religious polarisation for political gain and they should be defeated. We need a broad secular alliance against the BJP and a secular approach to oppose Hindutva," Yechury said.
"BJP government has a fascist agenda and is destroying constitutional institutions," he added.
According to Yechury, it is imperative that the Left parties should strengthen in the country and only the left parties can defend the current challenges.
