
Children harassing elderly parents at home should be evicted, says Haridwar court

The Haridwar SDM Court said that children who harass and abuse their parents should vacate their properties in a month. The court also asked the police to take action if the order is not followed.
The Haridwar Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court on Thursday ordered the children of six elderly couples, who were harassed by them, to vacate their house within a month. The court also asked the police administration to take strict action against them if the order is not compiled with.
Children who abuse their parents while living in their house should be evicted from the property, the Haridwar SDM court said.
A plea was filed by six elderly couples from Jwalapur, Kankhal and Rawli Mehdud areas of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, saying that their children abused and assaulted them. The petition sought eviction of the children from immovable and movable property of their parents.
The petition, which was filed by six elderly couples against their children, said that though their children live with them still they do not take care of them.
"The children do not pay attention to our health and diet and often assault us and this has made our lives hell," the plea read.
SDM Puran Singh Rana ordered eviction of children from immovable and movable property of their parents. He also ordered them to vacate the house within 30 days and if they fail to do so, police have been asked to take strict action.
