It will have the HR&CE Minister as vice-chairman
The proposed State-level advisory committee for all major Hindu temples is likely to be headed by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Indicating this, a government official told The Hindu that the formation of the committee would be in tune with Section 7 of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Act. The committee would have HR&CE Minister P.K. Sekar Babu as vice-chairman. “It can have any number of non-officials as members, of whom one should be a member of the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes,” said the official, adding that the HR&CE Commissioner would be ex-officio member-secretary and the Secretary in charge of the Department of HR&CE an ex-officio member.More Related News
