Chennai woman dies by suicide, police recover note blaming in-laws for harassment over dowry

Chennai Police recovered a suicide note in which a woman accused her in-laws of harassment over dowry.

A woman died by suicide after she was allegedly harassed for dowry by her in-laws in Chennai. The deceased, Jothisri, married Balamurugan on December 25, 2020. Her family had given a large sum of money and jewellery to the groom at the time of the wedding, but Balamurugan's family allegedly sought more money from Jothisri, stating that they had bought a house.
