Chennai Customs apprehends 'drug gift basket' from Spain: Ecstasy, LSD, cannabis worth Rs 58 lakh seized

Officials from Chennai Air Customs seized narcotics worth Rs 85.8 lakh hidden in a parcel delivered from Spain to the Foreign Post office and arrested two people in connection with the seizure.

Authorities in Chennai on Sunday intercepted a massive consignment of drugs comprising 994 ecstasy tablets, 249 LSD stamps and cannabis. Two people have been arrested in connection with the seizure valued at an estimated Rs 58.5 lakhs. The narcotics were recovered from a postal parcel that arrived at the Foreign Post Office in Chennai from Spain. The parcel was addressed to a resident of JMJ Motherland, a neighbourhood near Auroville in Puducherry.
