A 28-year-old Vivek Raj is a history-sheeter with several pending cases against him in Peerkankaranai Police.
Recently, Vivek Raj’s gang members had released several social media posts praising him in an attempt to threaten the rival gang. Understanding that the gang was plotting to commit a heinous crime, cops began to trace for his whereabouts.
Vivek Raj was then surrounded and caught near Kovalam region and several machetes were seized by the police team from their possession.
The initial investigation revealed that Vivek Raj was planning to kill Selaiyur Lenin and his gang members to avenge his gang member’s death.
Tambaram Police team - led by Inspector Charles - arrested Vivek Raj and his accomplice Vishal.
Further investigation is underway.
