The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rapped a lawyer over a petition seeking CBI probe against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and former Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh, saying such pleas were often drafted for "cheap publicity". A bench of Justices SS Shinde and Manish Pitale was hearing a plea filed by lawyer Jayshree Patil. "You have a doctorate in criminology. Show a single paragraph in your petition that you have drafted. Except extracting some paragraphs from a (Param Bir Singh's) letter and taking some paragraphs from orders of Supreme Court, what is your contribution? What is your original pleading? What is your locus? We are of the opinion that such petitions are drafted for cheap publicity," the court said.More Related News
