Charles Booker 'strongly considering' 2022 Senate bid against Rand Paul

Former Kentucky state representative Charles Booker tweeted on Monday that he is "strongly considering" running for Senate in 2022 against Republican Sen. Rand Paul, after his longshot progressive bid for the Senate Democratic nomination last year came shockingly close.
Booker announced his decision Sunday on Kentucky Educational Television, pitching his deep red state that they could find common ground on crucial issues. "The truth of the matter is we have much more in common than we do otherwise," Booker said. "And there are struggles that I have experienced in the west end of Louisville that aren't partisan — rationing my insulin, seeing my lights be cut off, not having a place to stay, seeing loved ones battle drug addiction and looking at jobs leaving our community never coming back."More Related News
