
Chargesheet filed against Param Bir Singh's co-accused in builder extortion case

Maharashtra CID has filed a chargesheet against four persons in connection with an extortion case involving former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and others.
Maharashtra's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday filed a chargesheet against two police inspectors and two others in connection with an extortion case involving former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and others.
The chargesheet, which is more than 2,000 pages, has been filed against police inspectors Nandkumar Gopale, Asha Korke and two others, Sanjay Punamiya and Sunil Jain.
In this chargesheet, Param Bir Singh has been mentioned as a suspect. Statements of more than 50 people have been recorded in this chargesheet.
On July 22, 2021, Marine Drive Police Station in Mumbai had registered an FIR against Param Bir Singh, five other police personnel, and two more persons for allegedly demanding Rs 15 crore from a builder.
