The incident took place Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. near Sundridge, south of North Bay, Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release this week.
"A commercial vehicle driver (was charged) after they were caught using duct tape as a makeshift replacement for a broken driver's side window," police said.
The accused is a 27-year-old from Brampton, who is charged with driving with no clear view of the sides of the vehicle, having an improper mirror, careless driving and failing to report an accident.
"The vehicle was determined to be unsafe for travel and was promptly removed from the roadway," the release said.
The accused is to appear before the provincial offences court in Sundridge at a later date.
The OPP said anyone with an urgent traffic complaint or concerns that someone may be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol should call 911 immediately.
