Chaprasis giving gyaan: Manish Tewari on Congress criticism of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s exit

Reacting to the criticism faced by Ghulam Nabi Azad following his resignation, Manish Tewari said that 'chaprasis' of Congress leaders are giving 'gyan' to the party.
A day after the senior Congress leader resigned from the party, Congress MP Manish Tewari said he did not want to comment on the merits of Ghulam Nabi Azad's five-page letter in which the latter heaped criticism on Rahul Gandhi. Tewari, however, said that it is 'laughable' when 'people who were 'chaprasis' of Congress leaders until yesterday give 'gyan.'
"It's laughable, for lack of a better word," said Tewari, adding, "We were in a critical situation. What happened was regrettable, unfortunate, and, in my opinion, avoidable."

Azad's resignation from the Congress on Friday marked the most high-profile exit of one of the "Group of 23" (G23) leaders, who had written to party chief Sonia Gandhi two years ago for a "collective and inclusive leadership" in the organisation, exposing the faultlines in the Congress party.
"Two years back, 23 of us wrote to Sonia Gandhi that the party's situation is worrying and should be taken seriously. Congress lost all Assembly polls after that letter. If Congress and India thought alike, it seems either of them has started thinking differently," Congress MP Manish Tewari told ANI.
