Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveils 'Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029' to transform Kuppam into a model region with innovative strategies.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the ambitious ‘Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029’ at Dravidian University here on Monday. This extensive development plan outlines the transformation of the Kuppam Assembly constituency into an exemplary region by focussing on socio-economic progress, modernising infrastructure and incorporating technological innovations.
In his address, the Chief Minister, who is on a two-day visit to the area, expressed gratitude to the people of Kuppam for electing him eight times in a row, reaffirming his lifelong dedication to their well-being. “I attribute my political journey to the people of Kuppam and can never fully repay their faith. This vision is my method of ensuring their prosperity,” Mr. Naidu said.
Criticising the previous YSRCP government, Mr. Naidu alleged that factional politics under the YSRCP hampered the Kuppam’s growth and the TDP supporters were harassed. He recalled the challenges faced over the last five years and shared his renewed determination to rebuild Kuppam and Andhra Pradesh with a focussed and actionable strategy.
Mr. Naidu accused the YSRCP administration of failing in governance, mismanaging the economy and suppressing dissenting voices. He remarked, “The last five years marked a period of destruction, corruption and oppression. Systems were undermined, and people’s voices were muted.”
Mr. Naidu stressed that the ‘Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029’ was created to address all sectors, such as employment, infrastructure, agriculture, health and education. He announced plans to generate 15,000 jobs through the setting up of large industries and skill development centres. He said that each of Kuppam’s 65,000 families would be empowered as financial entities, promoting entrepreneurship and reducing poverty. To modernise the infrastructure, the government pledges to develop the Kuppam cargo airport, build roads and achieve full solar energy adoption in the constituency.
The Chief Minister said that the vision document encompasses various social welfare projects. These initiatives include pensions for eligible individuals, distribution of gas cylinders via the Deepam scheme, provision of electric bicycles, and financial support for women under the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) programme. Furthermore, the government aims to construct a super-specialty hospital, guarantee safe drinking water access under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and build toilets to achieve complete sanitation coverage. An overarching goal is to turn Kuppam into a contemporary tourism centre, attracting investments and showcasing local heritage.
During a PowerPoint presentation, the Chief Minister highlighted the achievements made during his administration, including the transformation of Cyberabad into a worldwide IT centre while he was in charge of united Andhra Pradesh. Responding to past criticisms, Mr. Naidu said, “When I had presented Vision 2020 in 1995, many ridiculed me. Today’s economic success of Telangana is based on the IT groundwork laid by TDP.”
