Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann said in his pre-match press conference that his team will not play badly against Villarreal in the quarter-final second leg of the UEFA Champions League.
Bayern Munich will host Villarreal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday after trailing by one goal in the first leg. Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma scored the only goal of the game in the 8th minute of the first leg.
Bayern Munich have not progressed to the next round of the Champions League after a defeat in the first leg since 2014-15 and all those defeats have come at the hands of La Liga sides. But the Bavarians will enter this game having won five of their last six games at home in all competitions. They’ve been scoring at least two goals at home since the last three seasons in the Champions League.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsman said that his side would not play badly against the Spaniards twice.
"We played a bad game and they played their best game," Nagelsmann told a virtual news conference. "This will not happen again, to play badly against the same opponent twice," said the Bayern Munich manager.
"Maybe it will be a sparkling game from our side tomorrow,” he added.
Bayern Munich have been able to come back from behind in the past and Nagelsmann feels that the pressure is needed sometimes to get the best out of the team in such games.
"We delivered in the past and it should be like that tomorrow. We have to, we must, we want. It is normal when you win so many titles and have such success for so many years that you maybe need this pressure sometimes to get the maximum out, " Nagelsmann added.
