Congress MP AR Chowdhury said, “The PM should have come to the all-party meeting, but we were told that he has a busy schedule.”
He said, “BJP has nominated Jagdeep Dhankhar as its vice-presidential pick for political gains such as Jat votes ahead of polls in Rajasthan. We don't have any problem with his candidature.”
AIADMK’s Munisamy Thambidurai and TR Baalu said India should intervene to resolve the Sri Lanka crisis.
The Centre will hold another all-party meeting on Tuesday at 5.30 pm on the Sri Lanka crisis.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, said, “The meeting on the Sri Lanka issue is scheduled for Tuesday which will be chaired by Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman. We held meetings with the opposition yesterday too. We are open for any discussion, but we can’t do much if they create a ruckus and stall the procedure of the house.”
On the unparliamentary words issue, he said, “The Lok Sabha secretariat has been publishing the list of unparliamentary words from time to time. Such words have been published since 1954.”
