Centre calls another all-party meeting on Sri Lanka crisis on July 19

On July 19, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar will chair an all-party meeting over the Sri Lanka crisis.
The Centre will hold an all-party meeting over the ongoing situation in Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The meeting will be chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar on July 19 -- the second day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Briefing the media about the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, "The government has called another all-party meeting under EAM Dr S Jaishankar and FM Sitharaman on the current crisis in Sri Lanka, to be held on Tuesday."

At the meeting on Sunday, AIADMK leader M Thambi Durai and DMK's TR Balu said that India should intervene to resolve the crisis in Sri Lanka.
India has been helping Sri Lanka with fuel and ration supplies as the country faces its worst economic crisis. Last week, Jaishankar said India had committed USD 3.8 billion for Sri Lanka.
India has also handed over 44,000 metric tonnes of urea under a credit line extended to help Sri Lankan farmers.
Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis as severe foreign exchange shortages have hampered its import of essential commodities including food, fuel and medicines.
