Central Forces deployed in West Bengal for upcoming bypolls

A total of 133 units of Central Forces will be deployed in West Bengal for the upcoming by-elections.
Over 130 units of Central Forces will be deployed in West Bengal for the by-elections which are scheduled to take place on April 12. The result of the election will be declared on April 16.
A total of 133 units of Central Forces will be used for upcoming bypolls. These include 50 CRPF units, 45 units of BSF, 10 units of CISF, 13 units of ITBP and 15 units of SSB.
The upcoming elections are to be held for Asansol and Ballygunge constituencies. The forces are scheduled to reach Bengal by March 28.

BJP has asked for the deployment of central forces multiple times during the various bypolls and civic elections after the 2021 Assembly Elections
Earlier this month, West Bengal held its civic polls where the TMC won 102 out of 108 civic bodies. The BJP had alleged that the election was rigged and called for "re-polling" in the state under the supervision of central police forces.
