CENTCOM review finds no evidence Abbey Gate suicide bomber was seen by Marine snipers beforehand

A review released by U.S. Central Command on Monday found there to be no evidence that Marine snipers at Abbey Gate in Kabul saw the suicide bomber before the deadly August 2021 attack.

The review found the sniper team guarding Abbey Gate did not have the suicide bomber in its sights despite subsequent testimony and recollections.  Jennifer Griffin currently serves as a national security correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC) and is based out of the Washington D.C. bureau. She joined the network in October 1999 as a Jerusalem-based correspondent.

A review of the evidence suggests their memories of the traumatic event could have been affected by the fog of war.
