
CDS, 3 service chiefs hold high level meeting in fresh push to theatre commands

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat held a high-level meeting to create theatre commands and asked the forces to submit reports by April next year.
The high-level meeting was attended by the three service chiefs along with Central Army Command chief Lt Gen YK Dimri and South Western Army commander Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla along with Navy Vice Admiral Anil Chawla. The three Lieutenant General rank officers have been nominated by the Army and the Navy for conducting the studies for the creation of theatre commands and submit their reports by April next year, top government sources told India Today.
