The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Trinamool Congress Birbhum chief Anubrata Mondal in a post-poll violence case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Trinamool Congress (TMC) Birbhum chief Anubrata Mondal for his alleged involvement in a post-poll violence case.
Anubrata Mondal has been asked to appear before the investigation team by 1 pm tomorrow at the central government offices (CGO) complex in Salt Lake.
Mondal was recently quizzed by the CBI in a cattle smuggling case. He returned to Birbhum last week. The Trinamool Birbhum chief had been summoned twice earlier in the post-poll violence case but he did not appear.
Mondal had reached the CBI office in Kolkata on Thursday morning after evading summons regarding the ongoing probe into a cattle smuggling case in West Bengal.
Mandal returned to his home in Bolpur after a month-and-a-half of CBI interrogation in the cattle smuggling case. Since then, he has not made public appearances.
