A special court in Mumbai on Tuesday rejected a plea moved by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking a stay on the broadcast of a documentary series on Indrani Mukerjea, a prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.
CBI special judge S P Naik-Nimbalkar said the court does not have the "inherent power" to stop the broadcast, and asked the probe agency to approach an appropriate forum if advised.
The judge held that the prosecution had not brought to his notice any legal provision for such directions.
