CBI files FIR in caste census fraud case, books Maharashtra-based firm

The CBI booked a private firm based in Maharashtra’s Thane for allegedly furnishing false and duplicated census data to National Informatics Centre.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated an investigation in connection with cheating and falsification of census data collected by a private firm based in Maharashtra’s Thane in 2011.
The case was initially being probed by the Kerala Police but on the request of the government, the case has now been transferred to the federal probe agency.
