CBI charges ex-Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh for 'dishonest performance of public duty'

The CBI, in its FIR against NCP leader Anil Deshmukh, said he attempted to obtain undue advantage as home minister of Maharashtra. On Saturday, the probe agency raided premises owned by Deshmukh in Mumbai and Nagpur.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its FIR against former home minister Anil Deshmukh has charged him with "attempting to obtain undue advantage for improper and dishonest performance of public duty" in the year 2020-21. In the FIR, Anil Deshmukh has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act and section 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The federal probe agency also claims that its enquiry has revealed that Sachin Vaze, suspended assistant police inspector of the Mumbai police, had been reinstated into the police force after being out of the service for more than 15 years.More Related News
