CBI books railway official, 3 others in Rs 1.29 crore bribery case

The CBI has booked four people, including a senior official of Indian Railway, in connection with a bribery case of Rs 1.29 crore.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against four people, including a senior official of Indian Railway, in connection with a bribery case of Rs 1.29 crore, officials said.
“It was alleged that the accused public servant accepted undue advantage from the contractors through bank accounts while supervising works executed by the contractors. It was further alleged that illegal gratification to the tune of Rs 1.29 crore was received by the said public servant in his accounts and in the accounts of his family members from the contractors during the period from 2011 to 2019,” said CBI spokesperson RC Joshi.
