CBI arrests former Assam CM Hiteswar Saikia's son in 25-year-old loan default case

On Sunday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested former Assam Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia's son Ashok in connection with a 25-year-old loan default case. He was arrested in Guwahati in Assam and will be produced in the CBI court on Monday, officials said.

Businessman Ashok Saikia was arrested after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by the local court for failing to appear despite being summoned. Earlier, he was questioned by the CBI's Guwahati team in the case.
