CBI arrests CGST cop for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 in Pune

The CBI has arrested a superintendent of Central GST-1 for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a superintendent, Central GST-1 in Pune for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant.
Acting on a complaint, a case was registered against superintendent Kuldeepak Sharma posted at Baramati in Pune. It was alleged that the superintendent initially demanded a sum of Rs 20,000 and later agreed to accept Rs 10,000 to settle the labour contract matter of the complainant.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused in Baramati which led to the recovery of incriminating documents and other items.
The arrested accused was produced on Wednesday before the court of special judge, CBI cases in Pune.
