CBC Calgary raises more than $2.25M in donations for the Calgary Food Bank

Calgarians were clearly in a giving mood this holiday season, helping CBC Calgary's annual fundraiser for the Calgary Food Bank collect more than two and a quarter million dollars in donations.
This is the 38th year CBC Calgary has supported the food bank.
An unprecedented sum of $2,251,113.74 was revealed Wednesday as the final tally.
Every year, CBC teams from coast to coast to coast partner with local food banks to raise awareness and donations to help make the season kind.
On Blitz Day, Calgary Food Bank president and CEO Melissa From said staff have seen an increase in demand for their services, but the community stepped up.
"The glass-half-full side of this is that we have been able to meet the demand. We were able to clear that backlog. We're able to feed the folks who are coming to us because of the generosity of Calgarians," she said.
Make the Season Kind wrapped up on Dec. 22, 2023, and the final total was announced Jan. 3 on the Calgary Eyeopener.
