CCTV footage of the shocking gun firing incident in Delhi's Subhash Nagar has been released.
At least two people were injured in an incident of gun firing in Delhi's Subhash Nagar on Saturday night. The police said that nearly 10 to 15 rounds of bullets were fired.
According to the police, the former chairman of Keshopur Sabji Mandi Union, Ajay Chaudhary and his brother Jaswant, were in a car when they were fired upon by assailants. DCP West district, Ghanshyam Bansal said both injured are undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
CCTV footage of the incident has been released. It shows two attackers firing at a white Scorpio car. In the clip, attackers can be seen walking towards a white car as they start firing. They stop, and load again. WATCH:
According to an eyewitness, Ajay Chaudhary, who lives in Tihar village, was returning to Subhash Nagar. When his car reached near Subhash Nagar intersection, the assailants, who were already present in the area, started firing on the moving car.
The reason behind the firing incident is not yet known. However, it is believed it could be gang related. It is alleged that Salman Tyagi, who is currently in jail, could have been behind the firing incident due to personal enmity with Ajay Chaudhary.
The police said they are looking at all possibilities, including a robbery angle.
A heavy police force was deployed on the spot after the incident. Officers from the crime team were present and they retrieved several bullet casings.
