Caught on cam: DMK councillor's husband chases men with sickle in TN's Trichy

A video of a DMK councillor's husband chasing a group of men with a sickle is going viral on social media.

A man in Tamil Nadu, the husband of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) councillor, was seen chasing a group of men with a sickle on Wednesday. The man, identified as Vetrichelvan, is the husband of Nithya, who is a DMK councillor from South Thathamangalam in Manachanellur block.

Vetrichelvan had borrowed Rs 2.60 lakh from Gunasekara and had not returned. Vetrichelvan runs a Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) liquor unit.

According to Gunasekara, Vetrichelvan had threatened him earlier. When he tried to confront him on Wednesday, Vetrichelvan attempted to attack him and his brothers with a sickle and chased them. Video of Vetrichelvan chasing Gunasekaran and his brothers swinging a sickle has now gone viral on social media.

Siruganoor Police have initiated an investigation after both parties filed a complaint.
