The internet is absolutely surprised after watching a video of a cat that jumped from the fifth floor of a burning building in Chicago, and survived. Chicago Fire Media tweeted the video and it has gone viral with over 1 million views online. Nine lives for a cat that jumped from fire at 65th and Lowe. Cat hit grass bounced and walked away! pic.twitter.com/LRBsjMta2Z There goes my hero... pic.twitter.com/JoqtA334F1 Saw a documentary on this once on how cats are able to do this. It broke every movement down with super high speed cameras and how cats stretch the physics behind it all. It was awesome Amazing! He first had to judge how far he'd have to leap forward to clear the wall that is NOT close to the building and land on the strip of grass. am I crazy or does it sound like it meowed before jumping? There is a small black shape that seems to jump from the window right before the cat we see landing on the grass...it might have been a kitten. No indication as to what happened to that first object out of the window. I had a cat in the 80's who fell from my 10th floor apt onto a patch of grass directly below. I freaked but when I ran down he was seemingly ok. Took him to the vet: no fractures, nothing. Vet supplied pain meds for a few days but I think it was more for my sake.
