The Congress has asked its department heads to follow austerity measures to cut down on expenses. In an office memo sent to all General Secretaries, Secretaries and department heads, the party’s treasurer, Pawan Bansal, has cited the austerity committee’s recommendations to enforce the guidelines.

Sources have told India Today TV that as part of austerity measures, the party wants All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretaries to shift their offices to states assigned to them.
